Top 6 Hair Salons in Lagos for Your Next Look!

Hi guys, this is a post to appreciate the hairstylists/ saloons that have helped so far to make the best of my crown both as a relaxed and natural babe in no particular order. I love and appreciate them all.

1. Inudidit

Having just met this amazing stylist during my 30th birthday shoot, I can say that she is a pro at what she does!

Infact her passion for hair radiates through her personality.

A seasoned lawyer who doubles as a wonderful hairstylist. She is definitely breaking boundaries and comes highly recommended.

Fam she actually went over and beyond to ensure I had the best hairstyles to slay my looks.

Now, I am not sure she has a physical saloon at the moment, I am however confident in her extraordinary home styling services.

2. Temajhaircastle

This saloon is situated precisely at Onasanya, Idi araba. It’s owner has surely expanded her brand and grown since I last visited.

The head stylist Temi by name, was my go-to during med school years, and shortly after I got married.

Of course, at the time I was still a relaxed babe but a real careful and detailed one. Temi never got tired of my trouble. My banter of ensuring my edges were safe, during styling, the non stop questions and the ‘torture’ of relaxing my hair exactly how I wanted it.

Infact let’s just say we used to relax my hair together. Yes, I was that annoying, but she was always very accommodating.

We started to drift apart with my location change and new hair journey. She however remains one amazing and patient hairstylist.

3. Hairbythekemiamusan

This young and super talented hairstylist came through for me on one of the most important days of my life!

She was my bridal hairstylist. Looking back at the preps for my wedding all I can say is that she is also one patient hair stylist.

As a relaxed chic, I had to perm my hair shortly before the wedding to ensure a seamless blend of the leave out with the weave to be styled. Unfortunately, I was super stressed in the days preceding my wedding, and never got around it!

Though relaxing my hair wasn’t part of her styling deal, she agreed to come over to the hotel I was lodged to get it done for a token fee.

This singular act of kind service is something illd forever cherish. Just so you know, she is pretty good at what she does.

Kemi has a physical store in Surulere. Find her IG link down below just in case you are looking for a great bridal stylist in the heart of Lagos.

4. RadianceHair beauty saloon

The owner of this brand; Mummy Anu, is one versatile entrepreneur. Funny enough, I met Kemi at the time she was an intern at Radiance beauty saloon. I was a medical student myself, and even after medical school, radiance beauty salon remained one of my favorite hair saloons to visit. It is situated inside the Lagos University teaching hospital, COMPSSSA to be precise.

Mummy Anu usually had one or two hair advice for me. She has such a sound knowledge across both natural and relaxed hair care. She styled my hair for my 28th birthday shoot and did an amazing job.
Best of all, she introduced me to the beautiful natural hair product line; Truth by Tasala when I decided to go natural. I absolutely cherish her Saloon.

5. Hair advocate

How can I ever forget this amazing saloon located at Bode Thomas, Surulere!

It is a solely natural hair Saloon. I had no idea the first day I walked in. It was on my second visit, that I got the memo.

Quite funny actually, I had called one of the stylists at the saloon to make enquiries about possibly relaxing my hair with them.

Charlie! This lady almost had a seizure. I am not even joking, the look she gave me and firm response of their Saloon not partaking in such abominable act was enough to make me back off.

Fast forward to about a year after, I was at the Saloon again to take out my crotchet braids. It was on this beautiful day that a God sent stylist gave me the best advice ever. She said and I quote;

“You should go natural Sister, your hair texture is so soft, and you would barely have issues, trust me.”

I didn’t actually trust her lol! But I gave it good thought.

After going back and forth on the matter, I finally made my decision to transition for the need of new hair adventures and a different perspective.

The truth is that, at this point, I could do almost any thing with my hair on my own……wash, deep condition and the likes but relaxing my hair by myself was an almost impossible task. I yearned to be fully independent with my hair care and going natural provided the opportunity.

I am sure you can see why this Saloon rates highly for me, they literally changed my hair story and for this I am super grateful.

6. Modsaloon

This is one of the classy and slightly pricy salons on the island fam, but they are totally worth every single penny.

Asides being a stone throw away from my residence, I always feel like a 5-star queen with every visit.

This Salon has been instrumental to nurturing my natural girl hair dreams. There is a particular stylist there; she goes by the name Christiana!

Christiana somehow warmed her way into my heart! She gives me valuable advice when required, and usually suggests/ comes through with beautiful hairstyles. She genuinely cares about the health of my hair.

There is a huge difference between Salons with stylists driven by money alone and stylists who actually care about your hair progress. Mods Salon is one of those that truly care and I am loving every experience with them.

That’s it guys, I have a few other Saloons in mind. They have recently caught my fancy (most are solely natural hair Saloons) and I intend to go visiting soon. Don’t worry illd probably make an updated “Top appreciated Saloon and stylists” later in the future but till then , it’s goodbye from this end❤️
