Now, for the boogie people in the house, you know, those who love a nice cup of tea and yummy sandwiches, this is the recipe for you.
I would be dropping one of my most delicious sandwich recipes with absolute pleasure.
The great thing about sandwich is that it usually requires little to no need for heat/cooking. Not only are they quick and easy to whip up, they are also very nutritious when the right veggies are incorporated.
The icing on the cake is the addition of any of your choice proteins to the mix and you are assured of pure bliss to your taste buds and even more nutrients to your body.
This recipe I am about to drop could be tweaked in so many different ways, with the addition/removal of one or two of the veggies to suit your personal needs. Let’s get right into it.
First, we need to prep our protein of choice
Quick spice mix to prep protein of choice (Chicken/turkey}
To make a great chicken or turkey sandwich, your protein has to be nicely cooked. Here is a quick spice mix to coat your protein before roasting. Please make sure to use either soft chicken or chicken breasts which are usually softer and faster to cook.
Ingredients to spice 4 Chicken laps
- Greek youghurt to help soften your protein even more (1tbsp)
- Paprika pepper ( 1 tbsp)
- Cayenne pepper (1 Tbsp)
- Suya pepper (1 tbsp)
- Garlic powder (1/2 tsp)
- Ketch up (2 tbsp)
- White pepper(1 tbsp)
- Boulllion cubes (1/2 one cube)
Season your chicken/turkey to perfection and then leave in the fridge for about to 2-5hrs to marinate before roasting
Sandwich Ingredients
- 4 Slices of bread
- Protein of choice {chicken or turkey, nicely roasted} 1kg
- 2 Boiled eggs (sliced)
- Lettuce (4 small sheet wraps )
- Cabbage (100 g) sliced
- Carrots (100 g) shredded
- Mayonnaise (4 tbsp)
- Raisins {optional} (50g)
- Cheese {optional} (2 cheese slices for each pair)
Steps
- Start by shredding your Cabbage and carrots nicely, Add in a little mayonnaise and mix together before setting aside.
- Boil your eggs and with an egg slicer, slice into ring shapes and set aside.
- Shred your protein of choice and prepare for layering
- Get your bread and add some mayonnaise first, followed by your lettuce sheet
- Go in with your protein of choice, and your cabbage/Carrot mix
- Add another bread with another layer of egg rings and protein of choice and sprinkle some raisins before covering with the third bread slice.
- Toast both ends of the bread that kiss the toaster lightly with a panini maker or eat without toasting
- Your yummy sandwich is ready for consumption
