What comes to mind when you hear Club sandwich? Hope you aren’t naive like i once was, thinking it was a special sort of sandwich served at clubs. Please let’s laugh together if that’s your line of thought.
Nope it’s isn’t a sandwich served in clubs, however it’s history could be traced back to the 19th century club houses in New york. It is basically a sandwich consisting of three slices of bread {which is most times toasted} with some fried bacon, tomato and sliced cooked poultry held together with cock tail stick.
The first time I ever tried Club sandwich, it was served to me with fries. So pardon me, if I can’t just seem to have club sandwich without fries by the side.
Club sandwich could be pretty much versatile, based on who is making it, however, as long as the basic and compulsory ingredients are included in the mix i.e Sliced bread {Toasted}, cooked poultry and tomatoes, Other ingredients can be tweaked.
