Quick and Tasty Garlic Chicken Recipe!

Garlic

Garlic is an anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting ingredient. It is also useful for enhancing heart health. When added to food, it enhances the flavor of that meal. Garlic is that one spice that probably makes every meal better. It’s great for salad dressing, dipping sauces, and chicken recipes like this one.

Chicken 

For chicken recipes like this, boneless, skinless chicken breast is preferred. It is the most tender part of a chicken which also doubles as the most healthy part to eat. This is because it is a lean meat.

Be careful, though. Chicken breast is known to be rubbery and dry when improperly cooked. The garlic chicken recipe, however, ensures that the chicken remains tender and moist.

Ingredients 

The ingredients required to make four servings of garlic chicken include:

  • Three boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • One Tablespoon of flour
  • Half a teaspoon of salt
  • Half a teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
  • Four Tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil          
    Or
  • Four tablespoons of unsalted butter 
  • One Tablespoon of garlic, chopped
  • Three Tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Half cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice (optional)

Instructions 

Place a large skillet on a stovetop and melt the butter over medium heat. Carefully place your chicken pieces and sprinkle your chopped garlic, pepper, and salt over the chicken. Reserve some of the butter for later. 

Allow the chicken to sauté in the pan until it is cooked. Make sure to flip the chicken from side to side to ensure even cooking. 

When your chicken is cooked, spread it on a foil tray and allow it to cool for some time. Once it is cool, cut your chicken into cubes, or whatever shape you like. 

Sprinkle some flour over the chicken to ensure each piece is well covered with flour. Shake off any excess flour on the chicken. 

Next, shallow fry the chicken in a skillet until it is golden brown. 

Remove excess oil from the pan, leaving only about a teaspoon of oil. Add the rest of the butter and allow it to melt over medium heat. 

Add the flour, cornstarch, and lemon juice to the mix. Stir it continuously until it thickens. Sprinkle the parsley leaves over the chicken to sharpen its flavor. 

Serve it with rice or baked beans.
