Primers 101: How to Prep Like a Pro

I realized ages ago that many ladies who are willing to go the mile with make up are weary about product application to their skin, majorly due to their previous experiences with break outs.

This doesn’t have to be the case! Just so you know, Good Primers make all the difference!

So, what exactly are primers and how do they help?

They are creamy, gel like or liquid formulas applied over the face to smoothen it and fill in Large pores, fine creases and bumpy textures. They could be referred to as the photoshop of make up. Primers provide a flawless canvas for the application of other products.

JUST BECAUSE EVERY FLAWLESS FACE BEAT HAD PRIMERS INVOLVED

And the best part is that, they also act as a barrier between your skin and the make up products, consequently helping to prevent those nasty breakouts.

Trust me, Primers are game changers.

You would be surprised that there are different primers for varying parts of the face, I would be discussing the primer varieties in this two part post.

The truth is that, I can’t really vouch for any of the listed mascara primers but I know people who swear that those below are the bomb.

Lip primers

If I am being honest, not everyone would need a lip primer. Sometimes, just moisturizing your lip with a lip balm is usually good enough. However if you want to keep your lipstick from bleeding and also create a smooth surface that would hold colour longer, then these are for you. They come in different types of packaging. For example, It may come with a wand, as a squeeze tube, or as a pot.

With a wand and squeeze tube, you can apply it directly to your lips. If it’s in a pot, it likely has a thicker consistency, so I’lld recommend using your fingers as it may be difficult to clean the brush.

Some lip primers out there that get the job done include:

And just because face primers are the main substance of interest, they definitely deserve a separate post. Kindly check back loves for the concluding part of this primer post. Toodles.
