Where are my fellow puff- puff connoisseurs?
What comes to mind when you hear those words…… “puff puff”
For me it’s nothing but bliss!
I can officially say that puff puff is the highlight of every small chop experience. Quote me anywhere fam, but small chops are absolutely incomplete without the stars known as puff puff.
Now my puff puff making experiences haven’t always been blissful. There have been many failed attempts but we move, and come back even better.
Don’t get me wrong, it is a simple recipe but could get really tricky and disastrous if not done right.
One thing I have learnt is that Measurement is always key to success!
Illd share my recipe and steps I take to avoid puff puff mess ups.
Ingredients

Flour (2 cups)
Sugar (1/2 cup)
Yeast (1 table spoon of yeast)
Salt (1/2 teaspoon)
Vanilla Essence (3-4 drops should do)
Nut Meg (1 teaspoon)
Milk (1 cup)
Warm Water (1 and 1/2 cup)
Cooking oil (enough to deep fry)
STEPS

- Sieve the all purpose flour to remove lumps
- Add in your milk and sugar
- Add in your table spoon of yeast.
- Throw in your nut Meg and salt
- Put in 3 drops of vanilla essence to add a little flavor.
- Cover your puff puff mix and leave to rise for about 15 to 20 mins
- After the specified time, get a clean pot/pan, pour in some oil, make sure the oil covers about 2/3 of the pot or at least enough to deep fry.
- Reduce the heat to low/medium, and then commence the magic with your hands or a puff- puff pipette. I personally prefer going the hand way, it’s more fun, although messier.
- Fry until all sides are well rounded and golden brown
Voila your Puff – puff is ready for consumption.
